Sangzhi County boasts abundant hydro-power resources with potential deposit to 483000kw and exploitable water energy resource 456000kw, listed as one of the five small hydro-power development bases in the province by Hunan Provincial Department of Water Conservancy. Liangshuikou Reservoir Hydro-power Station is a pilot reservoir with carry-over storage confirmed in Lishui River Basin Planning Report, integrating flood control, irrigation, power generating, aquatic breeding and touring functions. The rain water collection area of the dam is 892 Km2. The perennial average flow is 44.9m3/S. The dam type is concrete arch dam, with max dam height 138m. The normal water storage position is 420m，with total reservoir capacity of 20.8m3. The power station installed capacity is 120000 Kw，which can ensure power generating 34200Kw，with perennial average power generating 334 million Kw.h. The irrigation area is 12300mu, with 16330 Chinese mu of farming land immersed and 15755 local residents are removed. The project kw investment is 8417yuan/kw, electrical energy investment is 3.02yuan/kwh, the benefit-cost ratio is 1.1, internal rate of return is 13.1%, net benefit is 75.9 million yuan, the payback period of investment is 20 years (the results planned in 1991). |
